Emmy Acevedo, LCSW
I was born in the Dominican Republic but have spent most of my life in New Jersey. As a mom of two and a pastor's wife, I understand the pressures and seemingly endless expectations that life can bring.
My passion for helping others emerged when I began volunteering as a mentor for disadvantaged children and youth. After my first year of college, I shifted my major from Biotechnology to Humanities & Social Sciences, uncertain of the future but guided by my newfound passion.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked in diverse roles providing me with a broad perspective on client care. I utilize a range of evidence-based practices to address issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem and family conflicts.
I received my masters from Rutgers University and Certification of Trauma Informed Clinical Practice from New York University.

Stephanny Alvarez
Stephanny Alvarez is a bilingual and dedicated Master of Social Work student at Walden University, anticipating her graduation in November 2025. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and women in various environments, including school and community-based settings. Her expertise includes providing both group and individual treatment for a wide range of conditions, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, borderline personality disorder, and autism.
Stephanny is deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space, believing it to be the foundation of effective therapeutic practice. Through evidence-based approaches, she aims to help her clients build confidence, strengthen coping strategies, regulate emotions, and embrace their full potential. She is able to integrate a faith-based perspective to nurture the mind, body, and soul in her therapeutic work.
Beyond her clinical experience, Stephanny brings valuable leadership skills from her background in senior leadership, human resources, mentoring, and behavioral assistance.
